What was begun as an online journal of the books I read evolved...or maybe it devolved...to also feature behind the scenes goings-on at All About Romance from my perspective (mostly based on my personal feelings - okay, it's a personal pity party); topics I've gone over ad nauseum in commentary at AAR, including the nature of reviews and online behavior; and my non-cyber life (including family and items in pop culture that capture my interest, which is just about everything).

Please do not violate my trust. I restricted certain AAR-related and personal entries for a reason...to keep them as private as possible. Now that my blog is read-only, to access restricted entries you must already have a password; if you do, hold onto it so that you can continue to read restricted entries.

This blog is not part of All About Romance. I ask that you keep comments or questions regarding restricted blog content off of AAR.

Below you'll find the blogs I visit, broken out in my own odd little system of categories.

Monday, 31 December 2007 8:41 P GMT-05
Go, Dog. Go! was the first book our daughter read by herself. I remember very, very well that she was very, very young, and it took a very, very, very long time for her to get through it, but I'll never, ever, ever forget the experience. When my daug

Bad Boys Ahoy! Sylvia Day Grade: B- Sensuality: Burning I've probably read all the Bad Boys anthologies, and there's almost always at least one story that really does it for me. In general I prefer the multi-author anthologies, but occasionally there

Bits and Pieces

Thursday, 20 December 2007 3:13 P GMT-05
Though this went online Thursday, it was written Wednesday afternoon while my iPod sync'd albums from the White Stripes, the Police, and the Beatles that I borrowed from my daughter in October. After I get done writing this, it's off to pack for a lo

Christopher Walken and the Hot Dog

Wednesday, 19 December 2007 12:00 A GMT-05
My daughter suggested I read Christopher Walken's essay on the Hot Dog, which I have done. Thankfully he steered clear of the whole ketchup conundrum (since the only mustards I eat are of the non-yellow variety - and those are never served where I've

The Shot

Tuesday, 18 December 2007 11:25 A GMT-05
Has anyone been watching VH1's The Shot? It's far better than most of the reality shows aired on the channel, and I say that even though I found Scott Baio is Single and 45 a delicious guilty pleasure. The Shot, about ten aspiring fashion photographe

RIP Dan Fogelberg

Monday, 17 December 2007 10:04 A GMT-05
Dan Fogelberg died this morning after a three year battle with prostate cancer. People die every day, but this one makes me sadder than usual, perhaps because his music was so gentle and he seems like such a gentle soul. Dan Fogelberg was a mellower

I've been a long-time user of skin care products by the small Canadian company, Isomers, and continue to use many of their serums. They are always ahead of the curve in terms of anti-aging ingredients, and because their serums are not suspended in cr

Fluke or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings Christopher Moore Grade: B+ This may be the best line of dialogue ever written: "Oh, that's heinous fuckery most foul." As always, it's tough to describe the plot of a Christopher Moore novel. On the surfac

Christopher Moore

Wednesday, 5 December 2007 10:17 A GMT-05
My interview with Christopher Moore just went online at AAR. I wasn't sure initially if I should post it there or here because he most assuredly is not a romance writer, but given how substantial traffic is at the site as compared to my blog, it didn
