What was begun as an online journal of the books I read evolved...or maybe it devolved...to also feature behind the scenes goings-on at All About Romance from my perspective (mostly based on my personal feelings - okay, it's a personal pity party); topics I've gone over ad nauseum in commentary at AAR, including the nature of reviews and online behavior; and my non-cyber life (including family and items in pop culture that capture my interest, which is just about everything).

Please do not violate my trust. I restricted certain AAR-related and personal entries for a reason...to keep them as private as possible. Now that my blog is read-only, to access restricted entries you must already have a password; if you do, hold onto it so that you can continue to read restricted entries.

This blog is not part of All About Romance. I ask that you keep comments or questions regarding restricted blog content off of AAR.

Below you'll find the blogs I visit, broken out in my own odd little system of categories.

"It's the American Way"

Sunday, 29 April 2007 3:38 P GMT-05
Last night we went to see Hoax, the film version of the book Clifford Irving's wrote about his faux Howard Hughes biography.  The movie has been touted as the best of the year so far, and I'm inclined to agree, because if nothing else, R

A Little Bit of Heaven

Sunday, 29 April 2007 9:47 A GMT-05
I've mentioned before that I'm a latecomer to the joys of drinking coffee (see my private entry dated April 21st)...and that, truth be told, I prefer my coffee the way children do, although with a couple of jazzed up bits. At Starbucks I ord

Music

Thursday, 26 April 2007 3:27 P GMT-05
Today I realized I hadn't bought and downloaded music from iTunes in more than two years.  During that time I added music from CD's belong to me, my daughter, or my husband, or individual songs from them that I liked.  When we were

Highlander

Wednesday, 25 April 2007 5:33 P GMT-05
I've been a huge fan of the Highlander television series for years now, and interviewing David Abramowitz, who was creative consultant for the show, was a career highlight for me a decade ago. One of the CD's we bought for our daughter last week -

Apologies

Tuesday, 24 April 2007 6:52 P GMT-05
When I wrote my blog entry last Monday, I did so without knowing what had occurred earlier in the day in the massacre at Virginia Tech.  We listened to CD's throughout the day, which was spent mostly on the road. It was not until after I'

Where's the Logic?

Tuesday, 24 April 2007 2:48 P GMT-05
I'm not a big fan of crying in public, but I did my share of it on the airplane ride home from Los Angeles last month when I read my copy of the April 2nd issue of Newsweek.  The powerfully gripping and poignant cover story was "VOICES

New Shoes

Monday, 16 April 2007 2:01 P GMT-05
Okay, so I had a bit of a meltdown last evening when we drove our daughter back to school after the day out with us. Her neck of the woods was full-throttle into a blizzard, and between that and my fear of heights, I had a meltdown and thought for s

Tuesday, 10 April 2007 3:10 P GMT-05
I am proud to proclaim that I am a nerd...or geek...whichever fits.  We'll be in New England visiting our daughter for about a week beginning later in the week, and I've just researched two of my never-indulged passions: maple sugaring a

Do You Remember "Remember Me"?

Tuesday, 10 April 2007 2:28 P GMT-05
Do you remember a classic Star Trek: The Next Generation episode entitled Remember Me? It's not one of the nearly twenty episodes I listed back in 2003 (click the Star Trek: TNG link in the previous sentence), but a recent experience we had with

The Sopranos

Monday, 9 April 2007 8:36 A GMT-05
Okay...so who else watched the final season opener for The Sopranos last night? I'm so happy to have Tony and the gang back so soon after the fall of Rome, so to speak, and was also pleased with so many interesting teasers of upcoming shows. &nb

Technology's great...except when it doesn't work

Sunday, 8 April 2007 7:33 P GMT-05
Because we'll be out of town a lot over the next year and a half - later this week, for instance, we'll be going up to New England to visit our daughter for over a week - I finally sucked it up and bought a laptop.  I ordered it from Len

Another Hottie!

Thursday, 5 April 2007 10:57 A GMT-05
So we're watching Criminal Minds last night and I turn to my husband and ask, "What if I blogged about him tomorrow? So he sighs, shakes his head and says, "That's all right...I understand. I know I don't satisfy you."TT
